My Comments

This map is pretty much a straight port of my TF2 map, cp_bedrooms3, but there have been a number of changes. For one, the map is cut in half. The playable area only consists of one house this time, although the layout of the house is the same. There is also a new night setting. Even though Valve feels comfortable placing zombies in a daytime setting in Left 4 Dead 2, I didn't think this map would work if I kept it in the daytime. The lights within the house have also been lowered, with the vents and mousehole lighting being eliminated completely. Hope your flashlight works.

There are some other additions too. I have updated the light fixture model for the first time since ctf_bedrooms for the HL2:CTF mod. The light switches have also been converted to models. The vents have been slightly altered so that they provide extra space for the infected to spawn. Also gone from the vents are the teleports, now replaced with ladders.

All in all, I think the map has turned out well. It was never meant to be a full-on project, just another map to add a little variety now that Left 4 Dead supports custom content. Still, I think it's fun and hopefully you'll feel the same way.

I also want to thank Supernorn over at left4dead411.com for the outstanding poster template. I don't know what I would have done for a poster without it!

 Final Screenshots

An overview of the living room. The hallway connecting the living room and the bedroom. Standing behind the TV. Looking out from behind a vent. A view of the outside fort. The backyard. Overview of the bedroom. Looking into the bedroom from the hallway. A shot of the stairs and the front hallway. A close-up of a Wiimote. The official poster.

 Development Shots

One of the first shots of a working version. Note the radio which was used to start the round. Louis getting ready to fall. The mousehole beams before being redesigned. The infected had trouble not falling off. Bill couldn't get back up because there was no nav information on that drawer. Before the TV screen would change to the Wii menu. The ladder wasn't quite working and this was treated like a cliff. Pretty much final, just nav tweaking left at this point.

Hey man, its great to see your still an active mapper! Ive never posted here myself, but an old friend of mine, joseph, has. We were working on a "2nd revision" of cp_bedrooms3, and after alot of progress, we hit an rut and stopped. Is there any way i could somehow find the textures so we could start work again? I'm sure you'd love the changes that we made and i'd love to see your reaction lol. Obviously, all credit for the map is yours, we just wanna...spruse? it up a lil! Im excited to see what will come of l4d bedrooms and will check back here often for a beta release! Any reply would be great! thanks again!

I always wondered whatever became of that project. I'm interested to see what you guys were able to do with it. I'll get all of the materials and models uploaded later on today and I'll shoot you an e-mail with a link.

As for the L4D version, it should be out this coming weekend. Thanks for your interest!
